Meet Cayman - A stone free Samoyed
Our
dog, Cayman, is a 3 1/2 year old Samoyed. We had been feeding her what
we thought to be the best available "gourmet" dog food on the market
(brand name reserved to protect the guilty). After many, many rounds of
bladder infection, treating with antibiotics, and watching her suffer
from pain and agony (not easy as a pet mom and dad!), we were very
distraught when we found out she had bladder stones. How many, they
were not sure. We made a decision to do immediate surgery to remove the
stones and get her back on track to health. There were FIVE stones -
one the size of a golf ball, one the size of a walnut and three the
size of peanut M&M's.
Our veterinarian recommended that we put her on a special diet, low in
phosphorous, magnesium and calcium. It was important that we change her
diet from an alkaline diet to an acidic diet. He wanted to move her to
a specialty product from (gasp!) the same company that we were feeding
her from now, likely (after much research) the very thing that was
CAUSING her health issues!

Fortunately for Cayman, we had met Delena at a special event, and she
had told us about wholesome, natural dog foods and how they could make
a difference in the life of your pet. I kept her information, and
decided I needed to do a little more research on what products are out
there. In the meantime, Cayman gobbled down the sample bags she had
given us, so I knew she LIKED the healthy food alternative.
After calling at least five dog health food companies, getting their
content information, analyzing it with the quantities that the Vet was
recommending, I felt as
though
I knew more about the food and nutrition we were feeding our dog than
the food that gets put on our table! We compared prices accordingly,
and decided to go with an Eagle Pack version for Cayman, hoping this
would reduce her bladder troubles and increase her acidity.
After 6 months of being on a wholesome diet, we have a brand new,
energetic, healthy and HAPPY dog on our hands! No more trouble with
bladder infections or stones, no more agonizing worry over if she is
ill again, and we can be confident that what she is eating is actually
GOOD for her!
Thank you Brookside Barkery & Bath for providing a place that
has REAL answers for a pet that holds a position equal to that of a
child in our household!

Barkery by Chad and Kristi Nimmo.
